Matt Jago
Chair of Trustees
Charity IT Leaders

Matt has worked with technology from a young age, building his first PC out of spare parts in his parents’ garage at the age of 9. He has worked across multiple sectors, from leisure, through marketing & data analytics to not-for-profit. His latest role is overseeing a major infrastructure refresh across 25 schools at the Girls Day School Trust. WAN, LAN, Servers and UC are all being refreshed over an 18-month timeframe.

Previously Matt worked at Sightsavers, an International NGO. He started back in 2008 as a Service Desk Technician and within 5 years was put in charge of the Global IT team and hasn’t looked back since. Over the 14+ years of working at Sightsavers, Matt oversaw multiple major projects, from migrating servers to a private cloud, moving to O365, data warehousing and analytics, systems development and of course the dreaded managed print contract renewal. After becoming interested in business analysis, Matt set up a Business Application team at Sightsavers to assist the organisation in managing system integration and development.

Before leaving Sightsavers in 2022, Matt worked on a Global Business Integration Change Programme to formalise the Business System Strategy and align data usage across the organisation. As a member of Charity IT Leaders, he was quick to volunteer to assist with organising the Annual Conference and became the Conference Trustee shortly afterwards. After running several successful conferences, Matt took on a new challenge as Secretary of Charity IT Leaders. In 2020, he took over as Chair of Trustees. He is passionate about his family, all things data, any form of technology, photography and, with a collection that overshadows that of his two children, Lego.
